Mostly, your result is about the skills of your injector.

Treating with filler is like sculpting with clay and it requires artistry to get the contours right. I’ve found artistic judgement can’t be taught – you either have a good eye, or you don’t.

Perfect balance and aesthetics is our speciality at EQlibrium.

Five extraordinary power of dermal fillers:

  • Dermal fillers provide an almost instantaneous benefit to the skin by reducing the number of acne marks, blemishes and scars.
  • Dermal fillers help fill in all fine lines, wrinkles, the hollowness in your cheeks, jowls and lips  making your face appear fuller and more youthful. They also can contour and change the shape of  the jaw, chin, nose  and bone structure.
  • Dermal fillers are long lasting, ensuring your face remains young, supple and shapely for up to 18months.
  • Dermal fillers allow for a subtle or substantial change in appearance depending on your requirements.
  • Dermal fillers have absolutely no downtime, allowing you to get back to your daily schedule in just a few hours.

There might be redness, swelling or tenderness in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injections and will generally disappear within a few days. The initial swelling after a lip enhancement treatment may last longer. Bruising and swelling are common and expected side effect with any dermal filler treatment. It will not effect your end result. Please plan your treatments accordingly, leave a week before any big events.

You can expect for:

  • swelling to last 1-3 days
  • bruising is rare but can last 5-7 days

When can you:

  • drink alcohol – after your treatment
  • hot drinks – after 24 hours
  • sunbed – after 7 days
  • sauna – after 7 days
  • exercise – 24 hours
  • makeup after 24 hours

We recommend to avoid sweat inducing activities and touching or picking at the area after after you treatment to reduce chances of infection.

Is it possible to have an allergic reaction to dermal fillers?

We use hyaluronic acid fillers and collagen-stimulating fillers. Hyaluronic acid is a substance found naturally inside the human body so a reaction to this substance is extremely rare. Collagen stimulating fillers are made from calcium, a mineral also found naturally in the body, so, again, reactions are very rare.

Should I expect to feel any pain after having dermal fillers injected in my face?

Most patients won’t experience any pain after having dermal fillers. But some people may find they have a little bit of soreness and/or mild bruising at the site of injection.

Before administering the injections, we will apply topical anaesthetic cream to the area to help keep any pain during the procedure to a minimum. The filler itself contains some local anaesthetic called lidocaine this is a numbing agent that makes the procedure very comfortable.

it may feel like the pain is getting worse as the numbing agent wears off, we recommend avoiding taking anti-inflammatories as this can thin the blood and increase swelling and bruising. instead we recommend other painkillers such as paracetamol.

Safety is our middle name.

Dermal fillers are one of the safest facial rejuvenation procedures available to patients today. The hyaluronic fillers used are extremely skin-friendly and generally do not cause users any allergies or infections.

As with other cosmetic procedures, there are certain post-treatment symptoms that you may notice. Swelling, minor bruising and bleeding are common; and they will reduce a few hours after the procedure.

With an experienced practitioner by your side you will be in safe hands.

Are fillers dangerous?

In a short answer, they shouldn’t be, no. If you do your homework, choose a good clinic and have the treatment done by an experienced practitioner then the risks of dermal filler are minimal. If dermal fillers are something you are considering, it’s best to know all the risks and potential side effects and how best to limit the risk before you decide to move forward.

What are the side effects of fillers?

Bruising

Bruising can be a general risk of any sort of injection, and dermal filler injections have the potential to cause some bruising. An experienced practitioner or doctor will know the best techniques to avoid the chances of bruising. They will also be able to provide you with advice to minimise or treat any bruising that has developed after your treatment.

Swelling and redness

The area you have the injections may be a bit red, sore and swollen. This should settle down in a few days at the most. To increase the recovery time, you may be advised to avoid wearing makeup and drinking alcohol and coffee immediately after the treatment. Your practitioner or doctor may also be advise you to stay out of the sun for a few days.

Are there any serious risks of dermal fillers?

Infection

Dermal filler injections are administered using a syringe which breaks the barrier of the skin. For this reason, there is a risk of infection to the treated area. To minimise this risk, it is important that the treatment is administered in a clean environment, using sterile products.

Filler placement problems

Dermal fillers can cause lumpiness of the skin if the practitioner injects at the wrong depth.  An experienced practitioner will know their anatomy well and exactly where to place the filler to avoid this issue.

Blocked blood vessels

If dermal filler is injected in the wrong place it can block your blood vessels and potentially cause death of the skin tissue. This can cause continuous pain and skin discoloration. As with other risks, if you choose a practitioner  with extensive anatomy knowledge and experience you can minimise the risks. A practitioner with experience and knowledge of facial anatomy are aware of where the blood vessels are in the face and lips and how to avoid them.

At EQlibrium we are complications and corrections trained .We often assist other practitioners when they have complications. Our experience and continuous gives us confidence that our clients will always receive the best care.

If I suffer from cold sores, can I still have dermal fillers?

If you have a history of cold sores, there is a risk that the insertion of the needle into your skin may activate the cold sore virus. This may cause a new cold sore to break out or a previous cold sore to recur.

Before your treatment, we advise that you take anti-viral medication. If you do have a cold sore break out afterward, please contact the clinic or seek medical advice.

Dermal Fillers: The Quick and Easy Way to Enhance Your Appearance

As we age, the natural volume of our skin decreases, leading to wrinkles, folds, and a loss of facial contour. This can make us appear older and less vibrant than we feel inside. Fortunately, dermal fillers provide a quick and effective way to restore youthful fullness to the face and improve the appearance of wrinkles and folds.

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable gels that are made from a variety of substances, including hyaluronic acid, collagen, and calcium hydroxylapatite. These substances are naturally occurring in the body and are used to restore volume to areas of the face that have lost their fullness.
