  • What are the side effects and risks of Derma 2.o bio ?

Okay, let’s start with some side effects you could encounter. Most of these can be treated effectively with paracetamol and topical treatments, or by simply waiting for them to pass – so there’s not much to worry about! But, sometimes treatment results in:

    • Some swelling and redness in the treated areas
    • Slight bruising and tenderness around the points of injection
    • Minor bleeding around injection sites

As with any kind of injectable treatment, there are risks and side effects involved with injectable treatments like skin boosters. The good news, though, is that these treatments are pretty low-risk, especially when carried out by qualified practitioners, like at EQlibrium clinic in Addlestone/ Weybridge

The above side effects might be quite annoying  but they should disappear shortly after the treatment.

Our safety practises ensure we have minimal risks and complications.

Treatment aftercare instructions

After treatments we recommend

  • maintain a normal heart rate,
  • avoid touching, rubbing, or physical pressure on the affected area
  • leave the treated area alone

Wait 12 hours to exercise

If exercise is part of your daily routine, wait at least 24 hours to work out.

It increases the risk of bruising. Sweating is also more likely to increase chances of infection.

Go makeup-free

If you received a injection in your face, take a break from makeup for 12 hours. Applying makeup will rub the skin, potentially dispersing the toxin to somewhere it wasn’t injected

Sit up

Sit up for the first 4 hours after getting Botox. Bending or lying down might spread the toxin and promote bruising.

Avoid other skin treatments

The area will need some time for injection holes to seal up and heal, so its best to give it a week before going for any other treatments that could potentially irritate the injection site.

  • facial massages
  • exfoliating scrubs
  • dermal filler

Getting these treatments too soon may cause irritation or infection.

Can I drink alcohol before my treatment?

Drinking alcohol is not recommended before a treatment as it can thin the blood leading to a higher risk of bruising and swelling.

How can I prepare for my treatment ?

  • Taking arnica supplements before your treatment can help minimise risk of bruising
  • Staying hydrated can help minimise risk of bruising and swelling.
  • Let your practitioner know prior to the treatment if you are on any blood thinning medications.
