What is a PDO thread lift?

A thread lift is a procedure that uses a dissolvable suture to tighten, lift, contour & rejuvenate your skin. It’s a less invasive procedure than facelift surgery with spectacular results.

It is possible to have one area such as the jawline or mid face or a full face & neck.

The barbed threads improve  appearance by immediately lifting & tightening. In the coming months, they will also encourage the production of new collagen in the skin to add volume, tighten and rejuvenate skin.

In addition Mono & screw threads for skin tightening and rejuvenation are also included and used in combination.

1. Safe and Gradually Absorbed by the Body

Facial rejuvenation using Polydioxanone or PDO is safe and does not produce allergic reactions. This K-FDA and CE cleared absorbable material has been in use for 30 years for closing wounds in different medicine areas including plastic surgery, eye surgery, gynecology, and among others.

The PDO threads completely dissolve in the body within 6 to 12 months. It is metabolized in water and carbon dioxide, which the skin naturally absorbs.

 2-Keep the Skin Looking Plump and Youthful

Studies suggest that the use of PDO threads helps stimulate production of new collagen in the skin, which enhances the skin’s elasticity and improves the appearance of folds and wrinkles.

This also stimulates the synthesis of elastin and hyaluronic acid in the skin, which are both essential in achieving a more youthful appearance and rejuvenating the quality of the skin.

3. Immediate Lifted Appearance After the Procedure

Patients usually observe a noticeable lifting and skin tightening immediately after the procedure. Keep in mind, however, that the overall result will be seen after two to three months when new collagen stimulation starts.

What to expect?

A PDO thread procedure can take from 45 minutes to up to 2 hours for a full face  including time for consultation & planning.

We advise clients to have a light meal & refrain from drinking alcohol the night before.

We also suggest no aspirin, vitamin C or blood thinners for 1 week before.

The procedure is relatively pain free.

We use a local anaesthetic lidocaine to numb the face &  the lidocaine injections are the only uncomfortable part. They mildly sting but are rather quick. It takes about 30- 60 seconds to numb each side of the face.

During the procedure my clients are talking, smiling & relaxed and always surprised at how little they feel.

You will occasionally see some mild swelling & bruising on some clients ( this tends to be on extremely fair patients or those over 60) but this resolves fairly quickly & all clients receive an aftercare pack to speed up the healing process.

On the day of the procedure there is an instant result from the mechanical lift  and tightening with the results further improving still over the next 2 months as collagenesis begins.
